A content web site is a site that is directed to a particular niche. Typically they are a smaller niche and not a vast niche like for instance airplanes. Alternatively a content web site would be about a more modest niche like "How to Repair a Twin Engine Airplane". Typically the content on the site is entirely on that one smaller niche subject. Unless you've been an internet marketer it is very possible you've visited many content websites without even being aware what type of sites they were.

The beauty of content sites is that anybody can easily acquire and profit from them, even though numerous people believe this represents a grueling undertaking this is not the case, as a matter of fact with some user friendly tools and just a little know-how it can be very easily be done. And having said that let's leap right into producing auto-updating content rich websites along with some basic steps you'll need to observe.

Step 1. Before you can move on to Step 2, you’ll need to pick a niche market for your content site. To make it easy on yourself you should start with something you're interested or otherwise very familiar with like a hobby or trade. Please try not to let it be something that you just dream up off the top of your head, and certainly don't let selecting your niche take too much of your time. It's really easy to do; it's not rocket science (Hey that could be your niche!). As a researcher what I did was just pick anything as my "practice run niche" to learn how to set them up and how the different niche markets work. As you begin and you’ve learned how to set up your niche then you can use research to refine it and even move on to selecting a different or related niche.

Step 2. You have your niche now you'll need to do some S.E.O. (Search Engine Optimization) research to build your auto-updating content site around. This can easily be done with most any type of keyword research tool. Do some research and pick one that will fit your skill level and your budget, the more user friendly to you the better. You can find many different keyword & SEO research tools both paid and free with a quick search on MSN, Google or Yahoo.

Step 3. Use a template and build a website; now here's where the fun begins because it is far easier to this than Step 2. Choose a web host that has site building templates to use for your content site. In this way you can choose how you want your website to look without having to know any actual HTML design code and build a site. Once you have a hosting plan and have chosen a template, load it up with your static content (articles, products, pictures ect.) and get ready to add your auto-updating content as the final step in setting up your content site. It can take as little as an hour to have your content rich site up and running, especially if you already have all of your static content ready to add.

Step 4. You may be wondering at this point where you are going to get auto-updating content. This auto-updating content will come from RSS feeds that you will add to your site. To start you can search for RSS feeds by going to MSN, Yahoo, Google, most blog directories and RSS directories once there you should be able to find what you need with no problem. You can even create your own RSS feed widget and even a few article directories will offer you RSS feeds as well. Make certain you use your keywords to find RSS feeds related to your niche. If you are using other people to create the content and using their RSS feed be sure the content is worthy of being placed onto your site. Placing the wrong content on your site will make it worthless to the visitors who are seeking your niche information. The benefit in using someone else's RSS feed is, each time they add new content your site gets new content too without you having to lift a finger (auto-updating in action). However be aware that different RSS feeds update at different intervals in some cases the updates come in hours, others in days, weeks and months. Be sure to find out how often the RSS feed you choose updates; hours and days are the best intervals to keep readers coming back to your site.

Step 5. Knock out two birds with one stone here by putting the word out about your site and starting a mailing list. Write an article about your niche, if you have followed Step 1. as instructed you will be writing about something you already know in and out. Writing about what you know is a lot easier than people think. Try writing like you are talking to an old friend about your niche and tell that friend as many details as possible without getting too long winded (1 or 2 pages should be more than enough). In your article be sure to put a link back to your content site's subscriber page, all good content sites have a subscriber page or list building form on among their pages. After you have finished your article you then submit it to the different article and e-zine directories to get the word out about your site. Be sure to write more than one article, this will establish your know how in your niche and gain trust amongst readers. Another advantage to article writing is that when someone likes your article they will pass it on to friends making it a viral article with links back to your content site.

Step 6. Establishing your subscriber or mailing list, this is the most significant part of internet marketing and the only method to be truly successful. Without a subscriber base you will experience limited earnings if any at all. Everything considered, if you can't convert the reader into a willing buyer, you should then attempt to convert him or her into your subscriber. In this way, you are able to still follow up with your reader with future offers as well as have a chance at converting him or her into your customer, preferably lifetime customer at a later date. Regardless what you select as your niche, do not neglect this essential step in your internet marketing success.

I encourage you to adopt what you have learned from this article, do more research and get started right now!
